Hosted by the Independence Blue Cross Center for Health Care Innovation
Philadelphia, PA
What:
The Global Service Jam is coming to Philadelphia! Hosted at the Independence Blue Cross Center for Health Care Innovation and co-sponsored by Philadelphia University’s Strategic Design MBA, this weekend-long creative design activity will help establish innovators in the community. Jammers in Philadelphia will join fellow jammers around the globe to learn, work together and develop prototypes associated with service design — which is about planning and organizing people, communication, and infrastructure associated with a service to improve its quality.
Using a design-based approach to problem solving and creativity, teams of all ages and varied industries will be given a shared theme unveiled at the start of the event. Last year’s theme was “a shape.” In the spirit of experimentation, cooperation and friendly competition, teams will have 48 hours to develop brand new services inspired by the theme. These prototypes will be shared online throughout the weekend and presented to service design enthusiasts around the world.
The Global Service Jam is run by volunteers who are passionate about service design. Although prototypes are developed, the main focus of the event is all about the jammers, particularly how they learn and work together.
Registration is required. Follow the Global Service Jam conversation on Twitter: #gsjam or Facebook
