Independence Blue Cross associates collected more than 2,000 pounds of food in support of five local food pantries, one for each county in southeastern Pennsylvania. Part of IBX’s Feed the Need food drive, donations included items most needed or requested in each county, including peanut butter, canned soup, coffee, pasta, and granola bars. Pantries receiving the items are:
- Emergency Relief in Bucks County
- Phoenixville Area Community Services in Chester County
- Media Food Bank in Delaware County
- Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard in Montgomery County
- Lutheran Settlement House in Philadelphia
The food drive is part of a larger IBX Community Affairs initiative to support nonprofits focused on housing and food insecurity.
