Anthony Coletta, M.D., MBA, president of Facilitated Health Networks (FHN) at Independence Blue Cross (Independence), was invited to speak at Modern Healthcare’s Leadership Symposium in Denver, Colorado. The event offers a forum for hospital, health system and insurance company executives to explore critical issues in health care and exchange ideas for shaping the future of the industry.
Dr. Coletta spoke on a panel about health care transformation and the continued movement to value-based payments versus traditional fee-for-service. He offered Independence’s perspective as a leader in implementing value-based payment models with providers in the Philadelphia region, noting that provider readiness is a key factor.
The Independence FHN model is designed to engage both the insurer and the health care provider to improve quality of care and reduce health care costs for Independence members through better care coordination.
