On October 25, The Philadelphia Ballet recognized Independence Blue Cross (IBX) with the 2024 Corporate Citizenship Award at its 60th Anniversary Gala Performance and Dinner. IBX President and CEO Gregory Deavens accepted the award on behalf of the company.
IBX is a long-standing supporter of the Philadelphia Ballet and the presenting sponsor for the dance company’s production of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®. The Nutcracker is one of the most complex pieces in the company’s repertoire, featuring over 170 dancers and the Philadelphia Ballet Orchestra who bring Tchaikovsky’s famous holiday score to life.
The Anniversary Gala celebrated and honored the ballet’s past, present, and future with a program that showcased the artists of Philadelphia Ballet, Philadelphia Ballet II, School of Philadelphia Ballet, and Philadelphia Ballet Orchestra. Funds raised at the event will support the Philadelphia Ballet’s work onstage and in the community.
