On December 23, hundreds of K-4th graders at the Isaac A. Sheppard Elementary School in Philadelphia received a holiday surprise from Independence Blue Cross (IBX). The company purchased and delivered wrapped gifts and a new, warm coat to each student — just in time for the winter break.
This annual holiday tradition of joy and warmth is supported by the work-study internship students from Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School, who helped pack and sort the items ahead of the shipment to the Sheppard School.
IBX adopted the Sheppard School nearly four decades ago, providing year-round financial and volunteer support for academic and social programs that benefit the students.
