As Philadelphia prepares to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary, Independence Blue Cross (IBX) returns as the Official Health and Wellness Sponsor of the city’s annual Wawa Welcome America celebration. The 16-day festival will run from Juneteenth through July 4 and feature an expansive program of free, citywide events in neighborhoods across Philadelphia.
New for 2026: IBX presents Philly Fair 250
In recognition of the country’s semi-quincentennial, Wawa Welcome America will host Philly Fair 250, a new three‑day signature event presented by IBX and produced in partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. From Saturday, June 20 through Monday, June 22, the Centennial District will come alive with history.
The fair will feature:
- Hot air balloon rides offering breathtaking views of the Philadelphia skyline.
- Outdoor trapeze sessions led by professional instructors.
- Food trucks featuring flavors inspired by the original 13 colonies.
- A life-sized replica of the Liberty Bell, presented by The National Liberty Museum.
- Family friendly activities from the Centennial District’s top cultural institutions.
- Live performances by world-renowned and local musicians.
Festival favorites
Throughout the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to rest and recharge with IBX at several events. The expanded IBX activation will feature even more complimentary seating, shade, and nutritional takeaways in partnership with Sharing Excess.
