IBX Blue Crew, Phillies and the Phillie Phanatic serve “Dinner with Love” to families at Ronald McDonald House Philadelphia

IBX & Phillies Give Back volunteers serve families at Ronald McDonald House Philadelphia during a special Valentine’s Day celebration.

Valentine’s Day came early for families residing at Ronald McDonald House Philadelphia while their children receive life-saving medical care at local hospitals. Independence Blue Cross (IBX) Blue Crew and Phillies front office volunteers prepared and served a special dinner to more than 200 families as part of the Ronald McDonald House Served With Love program.

Highlights included:

  • Valentine’s Day décor, crafts, games, and Phillies giveaways
  • A special visit from the Phillie Phanatic who welcomed families, helped serve meals, and spread Valentine’s cheer

The event was a continuation of the Phillies & IBX Give Back initiative which focuses on monthly volunteer and community engagement efforts across the region. Recent support includes a summer toy drive and block party with the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia and a Veteran’s Day service luncheon at the Veterans Multi-Service Center in Old City Philadelphia.

Served With Love

Served With Love presented by Independence Blue Cross brings groups of volunteers into the kitchen at RMHC Philly’s Chestnut Street and Front and Erie Houses to prep and serve meals for hundreds of families staying at these facilities while their children receive pediatric medical care.

IBX has supported Ronald McDonald House in the Philadelphia Region for more than 20 years. Blue Crew volunteers visit the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House every month to prepare and serve nutritious meals, like lasagna and tacos, along with comfort and hope.
