Associates from the Independence Blue Cross (IBX) Blue Crew corporate volunteer group participated in a special pre-Valentine’s Day sit-down lunch service at Broad Street Love (BSL), a social services organization that supports individuals experiencing homelessness and deep poverty. Blue Crew volunteers welcomed BSL guests, served a delicious lunch, and handed out valentine-themed treats.
This event highlights the community service efforts of one of the region’s leading employers and an organization that engages volunteers to support their work in serving individuals who are experiencing deep poverty. Since its inception in 2001, the Blue Crew has been one of the leading corporate volunteer programs in the region, supporting IBX’s mission to enhance the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve.
In 2024, nearly 1,500 Blue Crew volunteers gave more than 6,700 hours to nonprofit organizations through 185 volunteer projects. IBX and the Blue Crew have supported Broad Street Love for nearly a decade.
