Brian Lobley receives Heroes Among Us community hero award

Brian Lobley, executive vice president of Health Markets at Independence Blue Cross, was awarded the 2019 Philadelphia Community Hero Award. The honor was presented on November 5 at the seventh annual Heroes Among Us gala. Heroes Among Us pays tribute to the men and women of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Lobley, whose father served as a mounted police office for the Philadelphia Police for over 25 years, was recognized for his strong support of the Philadelphia Police Department. Heroes Among Us also cited Lobley’s role as one of the founding members of Fred’s Footsteps. Fred’s Footsteps provides financial support for families caring for critically or chronically ill children.

The event was held at the Union League and emceed by Cecily Tynan, 6abc Action News chief meteorologist. The 2019 Heroes Among Us gala benefitted the Children of Police Scholarship Fund, the Philadelphia Police Foundation, and Fred’s Footsteps.
