IBX hosts career readiness workshop to support Boys & Girls Clubs youth

Independence Blue Cross (IBX) continues to strengthen its partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia through impactful initiatives designed to support the well-being of local youth. As part of this collaboration, IBX recently hosted a career readiness workshop at its Center City headquarters for more than 20 high school students from four Boys & Girls Clubs sites.

Resume writing and interview skills were identified as a key need by the Boys & Girls Clubs team, prompting IBX to organize this special session to complement the broader partnership. IBX’s Talent Acquisition team stepped up to lead hands-on activities, including resume creation, interview tips, and mock interviews, equipping students with practical tools for their future success. The career readiness workshop also featured a networking lunch hosted by IBX’s Community Affairs team, where students connected with leaders and explored career pathways at IBX.

This workshop highlights the importance of empowering youth with the tools to help them succeed. It builds on other successful initiatives with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia, including a field day event last summer at the Germantown Club, which featured activities and crafts focused on mindfulness and well-being. IBX also supports take-home library kits for participating children, supporting literacy development throughout the summer.
