Independence celebrates annual community giving and volunteer efforts

Blue Crew Gives Back Days are Independence Blue Cross’s signature volunteer opportunities. It is the highlight of the company’s annual associate charitable donations campaign week which ran September 19-23.

After two years as a fully virtual campaign, Independence offered in-person volunteer opportunities at several nonprofit organizations throughout the region. Blue Crew volunteers participated in a variety of projects, including preparing and packaging meals at MANNA, creating a teen room at Turning Points for Children and packing senior food boxes at Share Food Program.  In all more than 200 associates volunteered their time at 11 nonprofit organizations that are making an impact on food insecurity, good health and well-being, children, seniors, and housing insecurity in our region.
