Independence launches new phase of Beat COVID-19 focused on childhood vaccinations and adult boosters

In the latest phase of its Beat COVID-19 public health campaign, Independence Blue Cross (Independence) extends its focus of child vaccinations to the importance of booster shots for adults.

Independence medical leadership is again featured in the campaign. In new spots, Independence Senior Vice President of Health Services and Chief Medical Officer Rodrigo Cerdá explains why receiving the COVID-19 booster shots are essential in protecting ourselves and our loved ones.

The last phase of the campaign featured Independence market medical executive and VP of strategic clinical solutions Dr. Reetika Kumar, who reinforced the importance of loving and protecting children by getting them vaccinated — especially now that children ages 6 months and older are eligible. Kumar recorded new spots reflecting the updated guidelines.

The award-winning Beat COVID-19 campaign launched in March 2020 as a response to the pandemic to provide information to the Greater Philadelphia community about COVID-19. Through videos, radio, print, digital ads, and social media posts, the campaign provides precautions, safety guidelines, and vaccine awareness, especially for young people and communities of color.
