Dates and theme announced for third annual B. PHL Innovation Festival

The lead organizers of Philadelphia’s annual B. PHL Innovation Festival recently announced that the 2021 festival will take place September 29 – October 1 and will focus on unity and collaboration.

Independence Blue Cross has supported the three-day event since its inception in 2019 and shares its commitment to foster innovation, and attract the best talent to live, work and play in Philadelphia.

“B. PHL has always been about discovering new ways to think, and re-think, to find innovative solutions that activate change,” said Michelle Histand, B. PHL co-founder. “This past year has underscored the importance of thinking differently, and this year’s festival is all about bringing people together to do just that. It’s our goal that, through innovative thinking, we can make the region – and the world – a better place as we move forward.”

Content architect submissions are also open for creative thinkers and doers across all industries who want to showcase their ideas and vision for the future on the B. PHL stage. Content architect candidates can submit at http://bit.ly/BPHLCA2021 now through May 31.

B.PHL Innovation Festival launched in 2019 with a three-day, citywide festival designed to build Philadelphia’s reputation as the most innovative city on the East Coast.

In 2020, the leaders behind B. PHL took the citywide festival virtual and shifted its focus on innovation to aid recovery in the wake of COVID-19. The festival connected attendees safely and creatively with a hybrid format that attracted a global audience of more than 6,500 registered attendees (spanning 49 states and 37 countries), more than 250 diverse speakers, and more than 120 events.

Last year’s festival featured a star-studded lineup including:

  • America Ferrera, actor, director and producer
  • Issa Rae, actress, writer and producer
  • Pitbull, Grammy-Winning global superstar, entrepreneur and motivational speaker
  • Night Shyamalan, screenwriter, philanthropist, director and producer
  • Nick Offerman, actor, writer and woodworker
