Independence Blue Cross President and CEO Greg Deavens and EVP and Chief People, DEI and Communications Officer Crystal Ashby celebrated Associate Appreciation Day recently with more than 100 Sales associates at the company’s Plymouth Meeting office.
This recently refurbished space in Plymouth Meeting provides Independence Blue Cross’s experienced sales team with a hub to collaborate with each other as well as host and connect with clients, brokers, and consultants. The company’s Small and Mid-Market Group sales teams, Education Unit Sales team, and some associates from National Sales call the location their home. The space features Philadelphia-inspired artwork, including a word wall, wall photos of iconic Philly scenes, and three conference room murals of different Philadelphia parks.
“We truly have a hometown, all-star team of associates, and our location that mirrors that. The positive, fun nature of the Associate Appreciation Day event enhanced the sense of pride and excitement our team is feeling right now to provide the best possible service to our clients throughout the region,” said Amy Gallo, vice president of Sales, Local Markets.
Themed “It’s a Philly Thing,” the Associate Appreciation Day celebrated all things Philadelphia through decorations, food, and music. Philadelphia sports teams who are Independence Blue Cross customers – the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and Union – were showcased in the décor as well.
“I wanted to get everyone together in a casual way. No formal speeches, no agenda. So many associates said that they appreciated their visit and were able to interact with Greg and Crystal in a way that they hadn’t before,” noted Gallo, who organized the event.
