Independence Blue Cross promotes Amy Gallo to Vice President of Local Markets

Independence Blue Cross (Independence) announced the promotion of Amy Gallo to Vice President of Local Markets. She will oversee small and mid-market segments for both new business and retention as well as broker experience.

“Amy brings extensive experience and a depth of knowledge of our market to this critical role. Her strategic planning and business development skills have been integral in providing high performance and high value that our customers expect of us,” said Brett Mayfield, Senior Vice President and Market President – Local.

I am confident that Amy will continue to lead the way in providing the highest level of service to address evolving customer needs,” said Susan Larkin, Executive Vice President and President of Core Commercial Markets.

Throughout her 30-year career at Independence, Gallo has held several roles of increasing responsibility in Sales. Most recently she was Director of Sales where she led the mid-market account management teams responsible for customer retention, and growth.

Gallo is a breast cancer survivor and an advocate for those who are affected by the disease. She serves as vice chair of the Board of Directors for Unite for Her. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and an MBA with a concentration in health care administration from St. Joseph’s University.
