Dr. Kulleni Gebreyes, MBA, chief equity officer at Deloitte; and Gerald Johnson, chief diversity officer and executive vice president at the American Heart Association’s Office of Health Equity, joined Deavens in the fireside chat. During the discussion, Deavens emphasized Independence’s commitment to health equity and diversity, equity, and inclusion in the community as well as for the Independence workforce.
The event touched on the Health Equity in the Workforce Guide, developed by the American Heart Association, the Deloitte Health Equity Institute, and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Foundation. The new resource provides employers with an actionable blueprint to address health inequities and positively impact the health of their workforce.
