Amanda Maloney, an eighth-grade math teacher at Avon Grove Middle School in Chester County, is a 2026 IBX Honor Roll winner! Independence Blue Cross (IBX) recognized the 16-year teaching veteran for her extraordinary dedication to education, leadership, and community impact.
Known for giving 100 percent to every student, Ms. Maloney is deeply committed to helping young people grow both academically and personally. As a math instructor, she primarily focuses on teaching Geometry and Algebra. However, she has also stepped up to teach several Social Studies classes when needed.
Ms. Maloney’s impact extends far beyond the classroom. At Avon Grove Middle School, she has coached track, cheerleading, basketball, and field hockey, while also dedicating her time to youth athletics in the community as a field hockey and basketball coach.
Ms. Maloney volunteers on multiple school committees, mentors new colleagues, and has played a key role in producing the school’s yearbook. Her leadership among peers and her commitment to creating a supportive, collaborative environment make her an inspiration to fellow educators and a driving force behind a positive school culture.
As a winning IBX Honor Roll teacher, Ms. Maloney will receive:

Six extraordinary teachers will be added to the IBX Honor Roll in 2026. The IBX Honor Roll is a joint initiative between IBX and the Philadelphia Phillies that celebrates extraordinary teachers in the Philadelphia five-county and New Jersey regions.
