85th anniversary campaign celebrates Independence Blue Cross and its first employer group

Independence Blue Cross launched a new series of ads this week celebrating the company’s 85th anniversary and its commitment to the region since day one.

The new ads reference the company’s start in 1938, when Philadelphia Mayor S. Davis Wilson became its first member and Independence Hall became its first employer group.

The new TV spot features President and CEO Gregory E. Deavens at the Independence Visitor’s Center with Independence Hall in the background. Print and digital ads also include Independence Hall as well as the 3D IBX letters found in other company ads.

The full campaign, which begins Dec. 11, will reach regional consumers through television, print, digital, outdoor, and radio ads plus social media posts.

Among the placements will be a spot on the Eagles vs. Seahawks Monday Night Football game on Dec. 18.
