The Philadelphia Tribune honored Gregory E. Deavens, president and CEO of Independence Blue Cross (IBX), and Lorina Marshall-Blake, vice president of Community Affairs at IBX and president of the Independence Blue Cross Foundation, for their lasting impact on the community.
Deavens received the highest honor of “2024 Most Influential African American.” These are 12 Philadelphians who are making a difference in business, community, education, health, and religion.
Marshall-Blake was named one of the “African-American Leaders.” The prestigious award honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and service to the community, and who contribute significantly to the region’s growth and development.
The Tribune recognized the award recipients at its annual Most Influential African American awards program on September 26, 2024.
Deavens and Marshall-Blake were also honored in 2023, 2022, and 2021.
